Partner B. Arts (1977), LLB (1980) Alastair Grant is a founding member of Birdsell Grant LLP. Alastair completed his post-secondary education at the University of Alberta, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1977, and Bachelor of Laws in 1980. In 1984, Alastair joined his former classmate, Mike Birdsell, in Stony Plain to form what would eventually grow to become Birdsell Grant LLP. Alastair is currently a Partner at the firm. Alastair's practice now focuses on residential and commercial real estate, as well as general corporate and commercial law. Alastair has much experience in the areas of business acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, commercial financing, as well as commercial contracts, agreements, and leases. Alastair has represented a wide range of clients, from individuals to small businesses to large financial institutions. Alastair has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the federal Tax Court of Canada. Alastair has established himself as a leader in the tri-municipal community, having served as the past President of the Stony Plain Rotary Club, a board member of the Yellowhead Credit Union, and a Chairman of the Board in his church organization. Alastair has also previously enjoyed coaching hockey in and around the community.
