Garage|Shots Magazine
With a little help, a local photographer turns beautiful images into a quarterly national consumer magazine.
In February 2011, we started talking about a project with Darren Greenwood, an Edmonton commercial photographer who we'd worked with a lot over the years. Darren had turned his attention to photographing custom cars and he felt his images could become the basis of a magazine. He had already done research into distribution but what was needed was a sample magazine to show the idea to the distributors. Together we worked to develop a mock-up magazine that we thought captured the art of the cars that Darren had been shooting. Our involvement included the design of the magazine layout, the writing, and the editing. When all parties were happy with the demo issue, we had a few digital samples printed and he sent a copy away for review.
