Below that are the post options. The default settings are for Display on home page, Allow comments, and Syndicate on main feed to be checked. You can change these default settings in the Settings > Writing section, however it is advised to leave these as-is. This section can also be used to specify the date and time you would like to publish the post. You may choose a date in the past (backdating), leave it as-is (publish immediately), or choose a date in the future. If you choose a future date, the post will be published and viewable by the public at the specified time. You can also choose to set the author of the post, which will appear to the public. You may choose the display name of yourself or anyone who currently has a blog user role. If you do not choose an author, it will automatically show as your username. The very last sections of the New Entry page have options to add custom fields and Search Engine Optimization. These fields do not need to be filled out for the basic blog. If desired, you may populate the Meta Keywords field with simple keywords relating to your blog post. Once everything is completed to your satisfaction, you may choose either Save as draft, Save & publish or Cancel. By choosing Save as draft your post will be viewable under the Entries tab by administrators, but not by the public until it is published. Save & publish will publish your post immediately (for backdating or current time), or at a set time (if you have chosen a future date). By hitting Cancel your blog post will be deleted and will not be saved as a draft. 21
