A er years of saving and searching for his '66 he tracked one down from southern Tennessee on eBay. It was
in decent shape and pre y much all original but the body needed a lot of work. Once he got it across the
border, a er paying a $5,000 fine for making a mistake on how it was declared, he got started on his dream.
Robbie did about 50% of the work himself. The engine was sent out to get done but most of the mechanical
he did on his own. He first kept the car original but a er awhile he wanted something with a li le more
punch and handling. He soon discovered the website www.pro-touring.com. The online forum really helped
him with his build. Robbie describes the site as, "a drug fuelled machine if you're a car guy. It's filled with
people helping out with advice and pointers." He was on that site 24/7 learning what he needed to do and
where to get materials to get it done.
