He wanted to run with the engine open and had the hood customized. "It originally had a butterfly hood and they always cracked down the centre." Daryl wanted the scoop for air and didn't want anything too large. "I found this one and said that is exactly what I'm looking for." Not many people realize what Daryl has on the road. "A lot people think it is a Chev." One of Daryl's favourite features is its flowing lines and fenders. It took a lot to get those lines just right, as "there was no such thing as quality control when these were originally made", laughs Daryl. " The trunk was stamped and it came out twisted from the factory." Daryl didn't end up with his Willys but the Hudson shouldn't take a back seat to anything. "Considering how much I put into this one, maybe I should have just stuck with the Willys" says Daryl, with a grin. 8 1
