Lorne would then take the next four years to build his coupe, doing pretty much the entire build himself. The
floor was initially mounted in the wrong place, so that had to be corrected first. "I first had to cut the whole
floor and lower it down about 5", channel it, remove and redo the doors, and remake all the hinges and
latches." Some of the most time consuming work was forming new body panels. "I think I used 8 gallons of fi-
breglass resin." The inside door panels were made by hand, the headliner was handmade, behind the seats and
the console were also formed in Lorne's shop. "I formed all the moulds and poured all the pieces myself. Every
piece needed to be reformed or fixed." The interior details were all handmade as well, with Sapelli wood, that
is burlered. "It's a real wood veneer over aluminum plate for the dash, created with a vacuum press, to make
sure it wraps around all the edges."
