Paul Roy considers his hot rod building a hobby and has taken that hobby to great heights. "I do it as a hobby, well it's full me, I do it as a semi-re rement." Paul used to be a cabinet maker and was looking for another crea ve venture. For the '54, things started out a li le backward. "I found the motor and started looking for a car for it. I found this ugly duckling of a car and then started customizing." The car was acquired out of Winkler, Manitoba and the engine came out of Selkirk. The car was in rough shape, with no floor and a lot of other issues. Paul did pre y much all of the work himself over the course of a year, with the excep on of the motor, which was done by a buddy of Paul's by the name of Mike Medven. "I try and do one car a year," says Paul. Plymouth introduced the Plaza in 1954, producing what they said was their 'Price Leader' model, up to the 1958 produc on year. Its' predecessor was the Plymouth Concord, and a er the Plaza Plymouth, they introduced the Satelite. Like typical models of the day, the Plaza came in the 2 and 4-door sedans and coupes, plus the 2 and 4-door wagons. G A R A G E | S H O T S 2 0
