Chip tends to do, to make it clean
and smooth." Jason didn't want
big bumpers hanging off the side, "I
wanted neat and dy."
Jason wanted a car that he could
rely on for speed and long distances
and has some plans for upgrades.
"Manual steering, big mistake, it's a
nightmare. Trying to move this big car
with big res is a pain. I'm going to
drop a new Hemi, new 6 speed and
power steering into it." He hopes the
new modifica ons will give him that
extra reliability and fuel economy for
those road trips. "A er I make the
changes, I hope to take it back home
to Newfoundland for the Targa race;
that would be great." It's a 5300 km
drive that Jason hopes to make soon.
"This is my pride, I want to show it off
back home."
A lot of other subtle modifica ons
have been made to the '69, besides
the bumpers. "I modified the grill,
added the chin spoiler, welded up the
side markers, everything has been
levelled out, and removed a lot of
chrome." He dropped in some new
panels, new trunk and front valence.
"I took a lot out, to lighten it up."
Jason loves having it out on the road
and said he couldn't have done it
without the support of his family. "It
was my dream that has come to be; I
couldn't be happier. I used to have a
poster of a '69 Charger in my garage
that I would stare at and now I have
mine."
