The car hit the show circuit by storm, gaining a lot of attention for Xcentric. "Everyone thought the body was a
vinyl decal but it's all carbon fibre. The entire top half is fibre. " The headlights also garnered attention, as well
as the wheels. It takes a lot of time explains what is in this one."
The car originally was going to be all glossy black, but that didn't give them the look they wanted. "It was just
too shinny for the theme of the car. Once the mat was on the sides we knew we had it. There is a fine line
between too much mat and not enough, but we're happy with how it turned out."
And with regards to the wheels, Chris explains how they came to be. "We have used the large billet wheels a
lot in the past. We went out on a limb with this one. The owner sent us some drawings of what he liked and
and I found them too shiny. I asked him, "do you trust me?'" His response was 'kinda' and this is the result."
We had the pleasure of photographing Road Kill and talking with Chris and the new owner, Tony Peressini, who
had just seen the finished car for the first time. And as Chris says, Tony is "not a man of many words, and it
took a few minutes," for Tony to say anything, "as the car took his breath away." So maybe it's not just a 'road
killer ', but maybe a 'word killer '.
