The old side view mirrors were shaved off and new peep mirrors were added but not all the old profile was removed. To keep some of the door 's vintage feel, they didn't retrofit a one piece glass, so you can still crack a wing on those hot summer cruises. A new cowl induction hood was fit up on the old beast and it was beefed up, so that it wouldn't shake and rattle when the 402 barked to life. Under the hood, lots of vintage touches still smile up at you to remind you what they looked like in 1969. A big old coolant reservoir and heater mo- tor are still there, but many of the old spot welds have been filled and cleaned up, to make this the deluxe GMC line. To keep more of the old feel, they also kept the original gauge configuration but tucked in some new electronics to get it up to date. The whole truck has been upgraded, not updated and slid- ing into feels like you just got into one of the prettiest time machines ever built. "It might just be the pre est me machine ever built." 8 8 G A R A G E | S H O T S
