Managing Your Blog Setting Up Your Blog Hök Nik will handle the initial set-up of your blog, including adding users to specific roles. You should already have a username and password (if not, contact us to set it up), and you and any others in your organization who will be managing the blog will need to be assigned a role. The roles are as follows: • • • • • BlogOwners: People in this role will have access to all the administration features of the blog, including the full Admin Panel navigation. This role is generally just for the Hök Nik Web Team, but can be assigned for the owner of the website as well, if full administrative features are desired. Editors: People in this role can do anything except blog configuration tasks, such as the Customize and Settings tabs in the Admin Panel. He/she can add a new category or modify anyone's posts or approve other posts. Only the New Entry, Entries, Comments, and Categories tabs in the Admin Panel will be viewable. Authors: People in this role can publish an entry without approval, and can manage their own posts. Only the New Entry, Entries, and Comments tabs in the Admin Panel will be viewable. Contributors: People in this role can write and manage their posts, but requires moderation/approval to publish posts. Subscribers: Somebody who can receive newsletters, etc. This will be available in future versions. For the sake of this guide, we will show the full features available to those in the BlogOwner role. 15
