The cover feature of this issue is a story that is about shock and awe. When Al Petersen said he had a street
rodded '52 Austin A40 Somerset Convertible that was also a Boston Bruin theme car, it was like a bolt of
electricity went through the editorial staff of the magazine. The car was set to be photographed the day after
the last game of the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Bruins were dominating Chicago and it looked like the
cup was theirs. For us, a Boston win would mean a fall cover that would combine hot rods and hockey... in
Canada. What a lucky break! It was clear that the moons of good fortune were aligning for us. And then the
wheels fell off the Bruin's bus...
