In the rolling hills above the City of Kelowna sits a gleaming orange viper. This is a 500 horsepower remake of
a classic Shelby design. And let's not mince words, this Cobra can spit.
The car's owner, Gino Dalponte, an area realtor and entrepreneur, has owned the car for about four years.
The car was bought in the Okanagan and it was re-crafted locally in the valley. In addition to this car, Gino has
many powerful toys. But he shows the Cobra a wary degree of respect. "There's a reason this car is called the
snake. It has so much torque that you have to be on your toes when you light it up. But as long as the tires
are hot, it's pretty easy to keep it on the road," says Gino, referring to car's incredible power. Its lightweight
body sits on a powder keg of thrust. With the sun beaming through the cherry trees, Gino gently touches the
gas and the quiet afternoon is replaced by a low sonic rumble.
