Robbie's build brings out emo on in people, that's for sure. "The public loves the paint," Robbie says, "and
then when they see the Corve e engine they love that too, young and old for the most part." That said,
Robbie says he's faced some cri cism from those who are against modifying a classic like the '66. "One
guy got mad at me a er I sent him photos of me changing the engine and he sent me some angry emails.
I responded back. I guess I am a li le bit of an agitator that way." Robbie says, "At the end of the day, it's
my car and once they get to know me they come to see that it's all good and usually in the end we could
probably go grab a pint."
The car gets a lot of a en on at the car shows and he loves talking to the older genera on who grew up
with these cars. When asked what his plans are for the car he hopes he can keep it and pass it on to his
son one day. "I have been taking photos of my son with the car since he was one year old and some day I
want him to have the car like those old photos from the 50s, 60s and 70s that I see. Those photos look so
iconic, so meless."
Now that the '66 is pre y much complete he would like to try something that his family would get behind. "I
am looking at doing a Mini Cooper, but I am going to put 220 HP into it, so I'm sure some of the family won't
be too happy."
