Mad About
MAPLE
Maple is a 'close-grain' hardwood that offers a
subtle grain pattern with incredible durability.
T
he colours in this species range from
creamy white to light reddish brown. The
lighter end of the colour range comes from
the sapwood part of the tree, while the darker
colours originate from the heartwood.

The subdued graining pattern in maple adds to the
soft, clean visual of this type of hardwood floor. As
with all hardwoods, maple will undergo a subtle
colour change over time. This patina process will
turn the floor more amber or a creamy golden colour.
If you don't like the golden colour – and you choose
a solid hardwood floor (or an engineered hardwood)
– you can sand and refinish the floor or choose a
different colour stain.
